Hey what's up? It is about 3:25 p.m. New Jersey time on Tuesday Aug. 12,2008. I am still at work, I just came in from driving the cement truck and just thought I would look on-line to see what you are up to. Like I said before Dan whatever you need let me know. Me and Laura are praying for you and thinking about you everyday. I just want to let you know you are a big encouragement to me. When I talked to you Sunday night you sounded great, you had a great attitude. With out beating around the bush someone in your shoes COULD be bitter but you seem to be doing great. The Lord makes NO mistakes. Like you said on Sunday night "you will have to start your live, career over" but I believe the Lord has something awesome that he is going to have you do. Take care Dan. Hey Kaiser, I'm so sorry to hear about your accident. I couldn't believe it when my brother told me. I was going to come up and visit you over the weekend but then Jeff told me about how much pain you're in and how much you've gone through in the past few days so I decided I'd wait and come up with him when you're feeling a little bit better. Hopefully that'll be really soon!! I'm praying for you and I really hope that you make a full and speedy recovery! I'd also love to help out any way that I can so if theres anything that I can do for you PLEASE let me know! Feel better soon!

From the moment I heard the news of your accident,you've been foremost in my mind, wrapped in prayers for full, complete, and total healing. The prayer chain at Calvary Pres was activated immediately, and Rev Kauffman asked the congregation at both services to carry you in their prayers. He also led the service last week with special prayers of healing, lifting you before the Lord by name. You are on prayer chains all over the country. Have been keeping up on your progress. Sounds pretty okay except for the headaches. Hope they can get a handle on them soon. I too have tons of people praying for you. I know that you will do everything that the Docs say so we can have that dance. Remember, you have until January, no sweat, Right?? Glad to hear that some of the physical therapy has started... the sooner the better. Hang tough buddy.

Your mom emailed me when your accident happened and we have been praying for you and also in the assembly prayer meeting last week. It was good to hear yesterday that some positive things are happening. We don't know you very well as an adult but have memories of a sensitive, sweet little boy, who loved the Lord. Iremember that before we left Addison you wanted to read the Bible with Nathan because he still was having so much trouble reading and I still treasure that memory. I know this will not be an easy period in your life but it may be the Lord deems it critical to your growth and service for Himself. We will continue to pray for you. Hey, Danny!
[Uh, oh--someone from your past still calls you that!!!] Just wanted to let you know that you've been very much in our thoughts and prayers. Also to add us to the list of well-wishers. And give you a bit of a hard time and *hopefully* get you to laugh.
Advice on helping to get rid of all those toxins from the surgery (and pain meds): Respiration, Elimination, and Perspiration. Don't know how much water you're able to drink at this point..., but you can--and should--be doing slow, deep breathing exercises, even on your own. You can eliminate a whole lot more toxins by exhaling through your mouth than your nose. Don was able to walk a lot of it off fairly quickly after his surgery, but as a Respiratory Therapist, he did the breathing for two reasons. A third is that it can be relaxing.
We're ll praying for the Lord to heal you, and that you feel His love and presence with you. Speaking from experience, here, but in these moments when we are vulnerable and know we are flesh, knowing He is there for us and really feeling His presence and care over us can be so totally awesome. I sincerely hope you experience that closeness with Him as you recover that you may not have noticed before at this level. He knows what you're going through and how you feel better than anyone else because He is our Creator *and* our faithful Friend.

I sent a small package via your folks, but I also want to send my love via the Guest Book. You know that we are praying for complete recovery! It sounds as though the Lord is giving you the extra strength (including strength of character!) that you are needing, and we will pray for His continued grace. Hi Dan! It's good to hear that you're doing better and that you might be going to RIC soon! I volunteer on Friday afternoons from 2-3pm on the Spinal Cord Injury floor, so I'll probably see you around. Everybody there is awesome--you can't go wrong there.
Andy and I were up at East Troy this weekend for the Sky Knights CReW Boogie. Andy is now a record holder for largest canopy formation built in Wisconsin (14)! We really wanted to come visit you, but unfortunately we had the dog with us. We figured the hospital would be quite unhappy if we brought him in to visit you, too.

Hello, Dan. I only met you once, when you were quite young. I was married to your dad's cousin, Steve Nunnikhoven, and we came to your parents' home in Addison. I have touched base with your mother a few times since then, but our daughter, Heather Nunnikhoven, forwards emails to me to tell me of family news. I am very sorry to learn of your accident, but happy to learn of your past career and hope in Christ. You have much in your favor with family and friends giving to you of time and prayers, not to mention the rock of sustenance, our Lord. I have found that when all that is familiar is stripped away, Almighty God is still the same! He is not shocked at our turn of events, nor bewildered by them. He simply stands and holds out His hand, saying, "Come, let us walk through this together. I love you, you know." I learned that our God is a can-do God, who is God of can-do people. I was very touched reading through this website, and could relate to so much ofwhat in going on, having had Joel so sick and in therapy seven years ago when he had meningitis, which also involved spinal cord issues and paralysis. God worked in so many amazing ways that we felt it a priviledge to go through the trial with Him. I remember how the pressed on David and I knowledge of His goodness, as soon as we learned that Joel had menigitis, and how that sustained us each hour. It is the confidence in this, and not in the outcome, that gives strength. We will pray for you, that you will feel His goodness in deep and real ways each part of your experience.

We are thankful you were spared Dan: the Lord makes no mistakes, and everything He does is for our good, and for His glory. I fell off our roof a year or so ago, and He spared my life too, for which I am forever grateful. But it COULD have been different, and He didn't allow it. Some day we'll understand! It was great to see you Tuesday evening. I thought it was a great sign that you were not in your room when I arrived - you were out carousing with Jimmy, John and Mario. Dear Dan: Although I do not know you and have never met you, I want you to know that after reading about your story, I immediately said a prayer for you. I received an e-mail on little Kaylee (she is 2-1/2 and is fighting cancer). My prayer for you is that God will heal every bone in your body, and that when you finish your rehab therapy in Chicago, you will walk again.....not only walk again, but will also run again. God has kept you alive for a purpose....there is a reason for your survival. He has the answers to the questions. May the Lord strengthen you daily. As you continue to recover from your accident, may YOU feel His encouragement, love, and presence in your everyday life. You are not alone. Remember, HE will not abandon you. Keep on fighting the good fight with all of your might! I'll keep praying for you everyday. Please keep us posted on your progress, and when you take those first steps, please let us know. That will be a day of celebration! It all starts with baby steps. God will provide you with the rest of what you will need, not only today, but for the rest of your life. May HE use you in a powerful way!

Just heard about the fall you took and we'll be praying for the Lord to heal.

I just wanted you all to know that I am pretty well settled in here at RIC. So far I have been havin my therapy sessions in he morning with most of my afternoon and evenings free. I have been reading everybodys comments and each time I am deeply touched. Thank you all for your continued support and prayers. Actually with all you praying for me i'm probably more likley to come back from this with superhuman legs or something like that...heh heh...anyways, thanks for the posts guys.

I have never met someone so determined to get the best from life!!!!! Stay patient, strong, and determined, as you always have! Hi Dan...This is Jerry and Elaine Savage from NJ just stopping in to say hello. I (Elaine) am Russ Caforio's sister. I happened to call him on his cell when he and Jonathon were at the hospital visiting you on the 10th of Aug., so we have had the privilege of holding you up in prayer before the Great Physician ever since. We look for the update each day so we can pray accordingly. When we first read about the real toe wiggles on the right foot...tears came to my eyes !! WOW !! We have sent your story on to several other Christians we know, and they,too, are cheering you on with their prayers.

Hi Dan!
Remember the fun times when we visited you guys with Matt, Nate, Tim, Amy Jo & Marita years ago? We sure do! - tree climbing in your back yard was exciting back then - sounds like you've been a bit higher since! But no matter how high (or low!) we get, we can find promises in that old Book that are perfectly suited to our need. In fact, I've found ones that have made me say, "Even if I were do my best to dream up a promise for God to keep, I couldn't do as well!"
For example, when I had cancer years ago, one I got was Psalm 91:15, "He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him." I was really helped by the 'double-barrelled' promise - not just eventual deliverance, when the trouble has done you good, and, in the meantime, "you're on your own, buddy" - but "I will be WITH you IN the trouble." I didn't deserve that, but He was!
I'm sure He has different promises for you, 'tailor-made', and I'll pray that you'll keep finding them, (and He'll keep keeping them!), till your trouble is over.

Hey, Dan! This is your nosy Aunt Peggy, just checking in on you again. Wow, I am not in any pain, and I am encouraged by what all your friends, relatives, and people who don't even KNOW you are writing! We will pray for those "super legs" that you mentioned. I so agree with what Harold wrote. The Lord is obviously IN this with you, and we will pray that He will continue to uphold you, and give you progress and release from pain.

Dan ... so sorry to hear of your "accident", though i'm sure you know the Lord is in all these things. Have been praying for you. Our daughter Kristen was in a horrific car crash two years ago, with broken back, 3 fractures in the pelvis, etc, etc, .... so i can picture your pain and trial. We got so many cards and notes at that time, but the verse i shall always remember that struck me at that time was Jer 29:11, sent to us by Jane Ruga, "For i know the thoughts that i think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." The latter end will be beyond words for you .... "satisfied with favor, and full with the blessing of the Lord". All the best for your. In my prayers on and on our hearts,

Glad things are going as well as they are. That's a nifty contraption they are going to put/putting in your back. Remembering the pain I had with a herniated disc, I can only imagine that yours is SO much worse. These days, I survive with 2 Tylenol & an Aleve. Hi again, Dan. I was just checking online to see your progress after FIVE days without power! (We had 75 mph winds through here Sunday afternoon!) Actually, it was lovely NOT to have my husband spend the whole day glued to his computer! This afternoon the power finally went on, and Uncle Gary and I checked both of our freezers and threw out a bunch of nasty food. We were SO glad that was done, and then turned around to find that we had plugged up the kitchen drain by pouring too much gunk-junk down it. At this very moment, I hear your uncle going "ugh, yuck" as he is trying to put a snake down the pipe. Alas, if it's not one thing, it's another. So,that's th you pray for us as we pray for you, OK? I was delighted to hear that you have good range of motion in your feet -- that's very positive news! I will pass it along to your Grandpa Kaiser, who was asking about you tonight. When I went over (to get the snake) to his house, he had just finished raking up the entire back yard and bundling large masses of sticks. Pretty good for 93! Anyway, I will quit nattering on and let you get on with recovering! We pray for you often!

Hey everybody,

We, visited Yniel in Sweden in august, he is trying to get a job with the wind energy development program.
He will have to move to the South of Sweden close to Demark, where must of the work takes place.
We'll be visiting Ydine in Hawaii next month on the way back from a visit to China; last year I could not visit my living room.
The Lord is good.

Excellent synopsis on gluten. Thanks for putting so much effort forth and posting for all to see. I have been diagnosing and treating gluten syndrome for about 8 years now. I get frustrated with the mainstream gold standard of diagnosis. It is nice to see virtually all sides of this issue explained and discussed in a central platform. Keep up the fantastic work!
